Assassin/Warrior?
Backstory My friend (Lushan Lord) and I are both level 20 and have a guild. Currently we are the only members in the guild. I am an Assassin/Monk. Lushan Lord is a Necromancer/Spiritualist. Although he wants to change his secondary class so i don't know if he will be a spiritualist for long. We have a friend in real life who says he is going to get the game. We were both very excited because that means we will have a third member of our guild.Problem We told him about the different classes and he said he wanted to be a warrior. Thats a good solid class so Lushan Lord and myself were pretty happy. Then we showed him what the warrior looks like...He didn't like the look. So now he wants to be an assassin as primary and warrior as secondary, and he also wants to use a sword. He effectively wants to be a warrior but look like an assassin. If im not mistaken warriors are used to take a lot of damage and deal out damage over a given amount of time. Assassins are used to deal a lot of damage over a very short amount of time and are basicly made of glass. Our friend wants to be a glass guy who doesn't deal damage fast. What can we do to convince him that this is a bad idea? I really don't want 2 assassin primarys in the guild of 3... |

Warriors have 30 more armor for Physical damage and 10 to all other compared to Assassin. He also has easier access for shield (minor runes can hit the requirement). If your friend wants to be a glass cannon, tell him to make Elementalist. Females look good and male... decent. Plus, he can run some party support. |

Yea, sorry i meant ritualist not spritualist
He doesn't want to be a glass cannon. He basicly wants to be a samurai. Not huge and bulky, but good with a sword. If i tell him to be a girl he'll probably punch me. I still think he should be a warrior/assassin instead of an assassin/warrior. But yea, i think i just have to tell him to suck it up and be a warrior or some other class instead of an assassin or he's not in the guild. |

Agreeing on the second part btw. Female warriors look better in a lot more armor sets then males do. Just tell him to make a female warrior in Elite Canthan armor or Monument maybe and to wield a katana with whatever shield he likes. |

If anything, samurai ARE warriors. Also, look at the armors, some make your char look bulky and some not. EDIT: Taking offense part is not serious, everything else is. I just know someone will misunderstand this... Last edited by Dmitri3; Dec 21, 2008 at 11:12 PM // 23:12.. |

u can tell him that hes character will suck balls
and if he doesnt care bout sucking and being completely useless then jus everyday, taunt him with ur surperior dmg as a dagger sin lawl (jokin...dun do that) but for real...a nub sword sin is prolly jus as bad as a nub sword war if hes more concerned bout looks, then let him be a sword sin the only real difference will prolly be after u beat the game, and u'll have more access to proper runing and builds and by that time...he should have the kno-how to make a new proper chara i sincerely doubt he will put a war to good use as a new player (no offense...most ppl dun) 1st charas for me usually tend to be test subjects so let him experiment and have fun and learn the hard way (that he was completely wrong) |

He has 4 char slots. Let him play what he wants. And when he's finally tired of dying all the time, make a suggestion that he rerolls a war.

Samurais were heavy armored guys. Not pirates/ninjas. Don't confuse these two terms. Well, three. If he wants something "like assassin, but more like warrior", let him play Ranger. They look decent, have nice armors and can play with swords/axes/hammers even in PvE. At least those manly enough, sissies stay back and throw wooden sticks. |
